Since 1991, I have been graduate student in the philosophy department at The University of Chicago. During the 1992-93 academic year, I taught ethics political philosophy, and communications at Gonzaga University. I received my MA in Philosophy from Chicago in 1992. I did my undergrad work in philosophy, political science, and speech communications at Gonzaga, which is located in my hometown of Spokane, Washington.

I am 27 and husband to Tonya Hanson, who graduated from Chicago's Law School in 1996. We met through Gonzaga's debate program, and have been married since 1993. Click here if you'd like to see a recent picture of us. I have one brother, Steve Hanson, who is 26.

In recent years, my main "hobby" has probably been personal computer technology. I have worked from time to time as a consultant in the acquisition and configuration of desktop and notebook PCs.
